Portrait Demonstration

Every meeting, as well as each member giving a short (currently 2 minute) description of their business, along with opportunities they are particularly looking for, one member gives a 10 minute presentation. This is to help members get a better idea of each other’s business  so we can better support and refer business. It also helps members to better know each other, as BIG runs on relationship and confidence in the people we are recommending.

For my turn, as an artist who prefers pictures to words, I tend to opt for a drawing or painting demo. So on 14th August I painted a very quick sketch of my son in oils. As I only had a short time, it couldn’t be a detailed painting or perfect likeness, the aim was a sketch that looked human!

The technique I used is based on shapes and tones and very easy to pick up. I offer 1-2-1 lessons, or classes in small groups at a conveniently arranged time. Fo this demonstration I used oils but charcoal can also be used.
